Contest!!

Sun Jun 20, 2004, 12:01 AM
My god, it's been a month since I last posted? Yuck. @.@

Well, I'm definitely in the middle of a huge drawing frenzy right now, one that I hope will last the rest of the summer. I definitely need the practice. ^^

Anyways, I'm starting a contest. For my "Are Wudusen Bishoujo" ("Those Beautiful Woodson Girls" ;P) series, guess/count the number of major errors in the most recent drawing. If you get it right, I owe you a commission. You get two guesses. I'm looking for things like proportion, size, the relationship between portions of the face, that sort of thing. Smears in the ink don't count.

((EDIT: If you were one of the two who possibly saw my journal or saw my picture before I changed it, you might have noticed that I fucked up my Japanese. Hey, it's 1AM, you can forgive me, right? ^^; ))

You're welcome, even though I'm a week late in getting back to you. ^^;
:iconsyron:
do you do all your work in MS Paint? (impressive if yes although i recommend trying photoshop or something too... just for the ability to do so much more with your manga)

Thank you. ^^ I do all of my comp work in Oekaki BBS... it's not too much different than Paint. However, it does have several great features that Paint doesn't have... a watercolor feature, better pallates, and features for lightening and darkening.

Problem is, I'm more concerned with improving my raw drawing ability right now than producing actual art. I'd rather be able to make a great line art drawing with no color, depth, etc. first, before getting on to all of the artistic features I should be paying attention to.

Also, I don't have Photoshop. ^^; Is there any Photoshop program (or an equivalent) that doesn't cost $600? I think I saw the 'professional' version for that price... but I need something cheaper. A job would be nice, too...
:iconsummannus:
I've been considering that... and it's definitely cheaper. =]
